LOUISE CAMPBELL
06. September - 26. April 2009

Louise Campbell got her international breakthrough in 2001 with her design of the
“Prince Chair” chair for the Crown Prince Frederik. Her design is characterized by a great
excess of poetry and narrative joy, which always go beyond the object’s immediate
function. In the decoration of THE HALL Campbell is working with social interaction and
the many movement patterns characteristic of the conventional meeting room. And with
the ambition to challenge the possibilities of the meeting room the designer asks the
overall question: How does one hold a meeting?

The Danish designer Louise Campbell will be exhibiting in THE HALL in GL STRAND
from September 2008 and will create a total decoration of the room in line with the
classical architecture of GL STRAND. With the use of furniture and objects in her own
design and various accessories Campbell creates a staging of THE HALL, which at the
same time accentuates the function of the room as a meeting room and as a
contemplative space for GL STRAND’s visitors.
